Childbirth Cleansing Ceremony
( from book Feminine Mysticism)
The expectant mother prepares for childbirth: a cleansing ceremony that prepares her mind for the upcoming birth. During pregnancy, a woman should meditate, do light exercises, and go for a walk, unless there is a medical barrier, and she should receive guidance in childcare from other mothers. As childbirth approaches, a special ritual can be arranged that brings a sense of mysticism to the childbirth experience. When a woman is in the last month of pregnancy, she should be prepared for childbirth through a daily bath and massage given by women. When childbirth is near already, can be arranged for her a blessing ceremony, involving already given birth to women who dedicated her motherhood.
I suggest a warm bath and the scent of roses in the bath water a couple of hours before the moment of birth comes, after the bath a gentle massage involving all women so that the birth is easy, and the mother is offered warm milk with honey to increase breast milk, flowers and good scents around; cared for and put on the mother's hair, served warm, sweet, sattvistafood so that the mother receives abundant love, blessing, and care; can be meditated together, convey healing energy to the child, etc., so that the woman is fully prepared for childbirth. This creates a very suitable state of mind. Participants in the ceremony can meditate, visualizing the child healthy and happy. At birth is also breathing exercises to alleviate pain, and to monitor women and the husband in this case can be very desirable.
Childbirth should be seen as a mystical experience, a moment when the worlds can be touched, a moment when the gap between the worlds can be touched, a moment when there is a direct connection to spiritual existence. Birth is a sacred moment, death is a sacred moment. Both touch the veil - the curtain between the worlds opens. A woman should be prepared to realize that upcoming mystical journey so that she can pull the veil aside and lead the child’s spirit into life and spirit connection. The spiritual energy of life is very high before childbirth if childbirth is carefully prepared in this way. A breastfeeding mother also needs the care of others. The community of mothers is very, very important so that a woman does not feel alone in caring for a child.
