Marriage
There are two very important points in marriage. The other is mutual love and respect. Without this marriage, it becomes a mere social institution and many problems can and do arise. Another important point is the willingness of both parties to stay together in both ups and downs. Without this commitment, marriage falls to the ground in adversity.
So both of these things are needed for a marriage to succeed. Without mutual love and respect, too much conflict, anger, and disappointment can arise. Whatever the reason may be, if the above are missing, the marriage will not succeed. It can continue if the parties are committed but have not succeeded. If love and respect are involved in the early stages,
but because of some difficulty they disappear, the marriage fails. If love and respect
cannot be felt, marriage becomes unbearable due to emotional backlash ... The difference is a great loss for both. One should not resign without good reason and without careful consideration.
If a husband respects his wife’s feelings and takes care of her well-being, it is the wife’s duty to consent to the husband’s will. In many marriages, such a relationship is possible, but in some it can be difficult. If a husband misbehaves to his wife, if he beats his wife, how could the wife be expected to consent to the husband’s will. His obedience is based on fear, "Will he beat me, will he do harm to children?" This is tyrannical and criminal. Such men do not deserve the loving consent of a wife. A woman who faces violence has to think first about her own well-being and that of her children. Thus, in some marriages, this ideal cannot be met.
In other cases, the husband does not commit physical violence but is self-centered. He doesn’t care about his wife’s well-being. He may grossly neglect his wife’s well-being and mistreat her on a psychic level. In these circumstances, too, there is no reason to consent to the husband's wishes. Such a wife may not live in fear, but her wounded feelings limit her ability to surrender wholeheartedly to the will of the man. One should not expect a wife to act against her feelings. Thus, there are situations where a positive attitude toward a husband is not possible. However, in many marriages this ideal can be realized.
A positive attitude means that in the case of a loving husband, the wife should respectfully follow his request if possible. If a wife disagrees, she should make it clear, she should not suppress her opinions. But she should consider her husband.
Likewise, the husband should take the wife’s opinions and feelings seriously and consider them with extreme care. The husband should not ignore the thoughts and feelings of the wife. Yet within the family, the husband has the last word.
- Baba, this is a patriarchal?
This is not patriarchal. I am not speaking for the power of men. There is a balance between men and women. That balance must be realized. Both men and women should not be subjugated. Their character traits are just different and therefore their way of expression may be different. Like I said, a woman may be positive about her husband, but that doesn’t mean she should be in this position for other men. She should not lower her gaze submissively and she should not keep her opinions secret - in working life, in politics, in all areas she should be bold and bring out her thoughts and feelings. She doesn’t have to please men. But at home the situation is a little different.
Yes, you don’t like it but you do it nonetheless. I am not in favor of subjugating women.
I want women to be freed from the tyranny that has befallen them. I want the violence against women to end. I am talking about the economic and political rise of women, but I do not want women to become masculine in their behavior. The wealth and greatness of women lies in their femininity.
Thus, an understanding of this approach is needed and a feminine approach should be adopted to address these issues. They are not solved in a masculine way. A woman’s love and softness can be an awesome force. Women have ruled this planet. They have lived without subjugation
and will do so again. But still, a wife’s affectionate attitude towards a loyal husband is a good psychological approach.
